The Holiday Season has officially come to an end. Luckily, this doesn’t mean an end has come to all the fun here in coastal Orange County. Here are some of the best events for young and old in January 2016!
Last month I blogged about the Great Laguna Beach fire of 1993. We received some amazing responses to the post from locals who lived in Laguna at the time. We wanted to share some of these stories with you because as Laguna Local Doug Miller put it: “this is history”.
On this very day in 1993, a few So Cal Edison workers spotted flames in Laguna Canyon. These flames would result in the “The Great Fire of 1993”, which consumed more than 16,000 acres, destroyed/severely damaged over 400 homes, and caused $528 million dollars in damage.
The long awaited Laguna Beach opening of Urth Caffé, an organic coffee house from LA, has finally arrived. The Cafe will open its doors on Sept. 20th with a “Grand Opening Party.” From 12pm to 7pm a free food and beverage buffet will be open to anyone who shows up.
August 26th is National Dog Day! Until about a week ago, I did not even know that Dog Day was ‘a thing’. Once I found out what it was all about I readily approved of the concept. Dog Day is a day dedicated to celebrating our furry friends, as well as educating the public about the number of dogs that need to be rescued each year.
