Sept. 6-7 – Catalina Channel Crossing, Newport Beach and Avalon
Longest Polynesian canoe race in the continental U.S, 26 miles from Newport Beach to Avalon. Hawaiian festivities, music and beer garden in Avalon’s center of town on Saturday.

Sept. 6-7 – BB Jazz Festival, Huntington Beach

Sept. 7 – Blessing of the Waves, Huntington Beach
Held at the Huntington Beach Pier at 08.30am, the fifth annual Blessing of the Waves is an interfaith prayer service and blessing recognizing the spiritual importance of our ocean and coastline.
Sept. 10 – Jazz Wednesdays, Laguna Beach
Jazz Wednesdays Summer 2014 will bring great jazz music and great food together at The Ranch at Laguna Beach, 31106 S. Coast Hwy, Laguna Beach. Guests will be seated at tables on the Harvest Patio, overlooking the Canyon. The series will be closed out with favorite Jazz Wednesdays musicians led by season director Bijon Watson on trumpet.

Laguna Beach Live! is presenting THE BAREFOOT MOVEMENT, award winners in 2013 Telluride Bluegrass Festival, on September 21st for a fun afternoon of Bluegrass and BBQ at The Ranch at Laguna Beach. The Ranch will be serving BBQ from 4:00 pm when solo mandolinist EVAN MARSHALL entertains. The Barefoot Movement band performs at 5:00 pm.

Sept. 27 – The Beach Boys Play Laguna
For the first time in more than 10 years, the city is opening Laguna’s Irvine Bowl (Pageant of the Masters) for the KX 93.5 Festival of Music, featuring Southern California’s most legendary band: The Beach Boys. Tickets are on-sale now! The event will be raising funds for non-profits: KX 93.5, Tony Hawk Foundation, SchoolPower, Mauli Ola Foundation, and Surfrider Foundation. Supporting acts will include Say Say, a Los Angeles indie/electronic duo, and 133, a local “super-group.”
